About Nicole Dhamnaskar

With over a decade working in the world of mental health, I bring a rich tapestry of experience to my practice. I work from a relationship and strength based approach where I create a non-judgmental environment to break through resistance and reactivity. I also believe that parents know their children better than anyone else. Hence, I work together with parents and their children to create an individualized plan to address the challenges they are facing. I also work closely with schools to support the academic needs of children and advocate for their mental well-being within the school system.

My Experience

After struggling with mental health challenges myself as a teen I knew I could help others going through similar challenges. I decided to gain the education I needed to help me on this path. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in Social Work from San Jose State University, where I specialized in school-based counseling and social work. I also have a PPSC school counseling credential and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2012. During this time I worked in both community based and K-12 school settings. This experience has given me knowledge not just of therapeutic techniques but also an understanding of how to work within communities.
